Time to rest now and take the mask off, you are not broken afterall
I was diagnosed with ADHD at 48 which I cover here in my The ADHD Hummingbird 3 min Podcasts. 20% of the population could be Neurodiverse. It is mainly genetic but can also mutate itself or be the result of trauma/neglect and other environmental factors.
Coaching someone who is Neurodivergent (ND) requires a qualified, experienced Coach with a first hand, experienced understanding of an ND brain and behaviours. I understand the frustrations and the self irritation when you don’t understand why you don’t seem like everyone else. To Assume, Be Late, People Please, Lose, Miss, Avoid, Fret, Dwell, Offend, Interrupt, Forget, Procrastinate, Ruminate, Overreact… All potential Neurodiverse traits that can be harmful when internalised and not understood. I understand them all, because I felt them. They made me upset and miss out on life by thinking something was wrong with me.
My familiarity now, with these symptoms, means I am already on my client’s side and have the terminology to explain what you might not be able to put into words. I offer non judgemental COMPASSION to help you in going forwards. I accept there will be difficulties with the grown up, sometimes boring but necessary bits ie Executive Functioning, but I am not going to tell you to get a new diary or a birthday calendar. We focus on emotions first and foremost so you can thrive.

The Science Bit – Executive Functioning means Time Keeping, Motivation, Organisation, Accountability & Memory, managed from the Pre Frontal Cortex. As ours doesn’t develop as well as those who are Neurotypical, something else in our life might suffer to pull life off. We need to regularly check in with ourselves to ask: I can do this – but at what cost? Stop aiming for an A grade if it causes Burnout, Overwhelm, Melt downs. Start aiming for a B minus to stay sane and safer.
I am not interested if there is an ADHD/ASD diagnosis in place, you are awaiting one or decide not to. I am purely focussed on making you feel better and happier. If you do identify with the following emotions, then Coaching will help ease everything. I wish it had been available for me at many ages, to avoid some unnecessarily sad and shameful times. You will learn about Self Compassion and to stop resisting or over compensating for who you are. Our Coaching sessions are a place to accept yourself and drop the Mask and feel accepted. Your Neurodiversity will never go away, but learning and accepting why you do what you do, will make life easier and happier.

The moment you decide to change your mindset, everything starts to change for the better. I will help you look at the Expectations you live by (are they even yours?), Values, Behaviour, Interactions & Self Beliefs, to discover what is holding you back from how you would like to feel. Often, what we thought was the Truth has no Evidence whatsoever and holds us back from finding the right Job, Partner or general Happiness, yet we think about it to the point of it making us ill.

NEURODIVERSE FACTS
ALL ADHD and Autistic studies were based on males. Is it any wonder why so many girls went under the radar?
You do not grow out of Neurodiversity and you are born with it. Girls and women mask it well, as we mimic others.
Hormone changes in girls (puberty) and women (menopause) and your monthly period, exacerbate ADHD.
There are high rates of comorbidity (overlap) between Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia and Audio Processing Disorder.
